What is the Material of PA for Inflatable Packaging Bags?

When it comes to the materials used in inflatable packaging products, we often see the terms PA, PO, and PE. Many people may be familiar with PO and PE, but what is PA material and what are its characteristics and functions? Now BJT will provide a detailed explanation of PA material in inflatable packaging bags.

The function of inflatable packaging bags:

The PA film is actually a co-extruded film of PE material with nylon. Nylon co-extruded film is a thin film made by co-extruding multiple layers of different plastic materials with significantly different barrier properties to achieve high barrier effects for oxygen, water, carbon dioxide, odor, and more. This is why we often say that inflatable packaging bags have excellent waterproof and oil-resistant properties, because nylon co-extruded film has high barrier properties.

The characteristics of inflatable packaging bags:

Because the main components of nylon co-extruded film are nylon and PE, which is one of the common production materials for plastic packaging bags, adding nylon and other materials to it can give it composite strength that exceeds that of other plastic packaging bags. The higher the nylon content, the better the toughness of the co-extruded film, but the material will become harder. Therefore, in the production of nylon co-extruded film, the nylon content is generally lower than the PE content. Thus, five/seven-layer co-extruded films have the characteristics of good flexibility, excellent heat-sealing performance, and no layered peeling phenomenon during processing.

The production raw materials of PA film are PE and nylon. PE refers to low-density polyethylene (LDPE), which is non-toxic, tasteless, and odorless, and appears as milky-white particles. Nylon also does not contain any reducing substances, so the adhesive film of PA material also has green environmental performance.

Compared with glass packaging, aluminum foil packaging, and other plastic packaging, co-extruded films have significant cost advantages to achieve the same barrier effects. Due to its simple process, the cost of the produced film products can be reduced by 10%-20% compared to dry composite films and other composite films.

As nylon co-extruded film has so many excellent characteristics, it has become the preferred material for many customers in inflatable packaging bags.
